At the 2008 presentation of the Lake Superior Division Alpine (LSDA) Awards, the 'Jason Lapierre Memorial Entry Level Coach of the Year' award was won by Todd Thornley of the Norwesters Alpine Club and Shaun Moore of the Port Arthur Ski Club/Mt Baldy. Congratulations to Todd and Shaun for their dedication to coaching and for displaying the ideals which Jason believed in.

With the introduction of the 'Jason Lapierre Memorial Entry Level Coach of the Year Award', the Lake Superior Division Alpine (LSDA) honours Jason's memory and pays tribute to the contribution he made to skiing during his early coaching career in Thunder Bay.

On April 19, 2007, at the LSDA Awards Banquet in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canadian alpine skier John Kucera presented the first 'Jason Lapierre Memorial Entry Level Coach of the Year Award' to Todd Thornley and Nathan Gallant.
