The Jay Cup

Jason was the Program Director and Head Coach for Calgary Alpine Racing Club  (CARC)  from 2000 - 2006.  He was just beginning his 7th year working for CARC.

In March, 2007, CARC set up and hosted the first "Jay Cup Memorial" to honour Jason's memory.

2008 Jay Cup

Congratulations to Michael Law and Victoria Michalik, who took top honours as the series champions.

About 150 of the top K2 athletes in the province gathered at Nakiska on March 17, 2008, for the Jay Cup Memorial - Apogee Series Finals.  This three-day premier event featured two separate Giant Slalom races on Friday, as well as Slaloms on both Saturday and Sunday.  The weekend was particularly significant for Calgary Alpine Racing Club with the Jay Cup Memorial being attached to the event.  Thanks to Chief of Race, CARC's Todd McNutt and all the dedicated volunteers for continuing to keep Jason's legacy alive.

A Dedication

Suzanne sent this great action photo of her race at the 2008 Jay Cup and dedicated it to Jason, her former coach. She says: "I wear Jay's green shirt at every race so that he can be there with me, and see how I'm improving."

Suzanne...Jason would be so proud of you.
